We selected Debbie Yu as our February 2015 Student of the Month. Debbie receives her tutoring in AAME Harvest Lakes Community Centre Campus. She is a year 6 student at Beeliar Primary School.

We have been working with Debbie with her English and Maths subjects since last year.

Throughout all the classes that we have worked with Debbie, she has proven to be a dream student to work with. We really enjoyed being Debbie’s tutor. She is a highly motivated and intelligent individual. She is a hard worker that puts 100% effort in everything she does. She is also a very kind-hearted young woman who is proactive in her community. She was newly elected as captain leading a faction in her school and she also assists other kids with special needs. It is clear that Debbie not only wishes to succeed academically and achieve her own personal goals, but she also looks beyond her own needs and helps other individuals to achieve their own goals. We greatly admire young individuals who are selfless, like Debbie has proven to be, and who work towards making the world a better place, not only for themselves, but also for others.

We have seen Debbie’s understanding of Maths blossom during the time that we have worked together. Before we started tutoring for Maths, Debbie stated that maths had never been her strongest subject nor was it ever her favourite. In terms of grades in tests and quizzes that she has acquired thus far, Debbie has demonstrated clear improvements. More importantly, Debbie’s confidence in her academic abilities has also improved thanks to the hard work she and her tutor have put in and their shared love of learning. What we enjoy the most about working with Debbie is that she is passionate about learning and academics. We look forward to continue working with Debbie and seeing her achieve all the goals she sets for herself. Debbie is truly a remarkable young woman who has a lot to offer. We are fortunate and thankful that we get to work with her and her family.

Congratulations Debbie! Keep up the fantastic work!
